Stuart Hamm Bass Methods Workshop in Singapore
Stuart Hamm will be flying into Singapore for a workshop to inspire local
bassists with his unique bass techniques on slapping, flamenco raking and polyphonic two-hand
tapping chords and harmonics.
This rare showcase explores the outer limits of bass technique and is presented by American bass
amp and cabinet manufacturer, Hartke Systems, and its distributor in Singapore and Malaysia, City
Music. A brilliant clinician and teacher, Stu plays Hartke bass cabinets and amps exclusively.
Recognised as one of the most innovative and influential bassists in the music industry who has
redefined playing bass guitar, Stuart has released numerous solo albums, worked with seminal
guitarists such as Steve Vai, Joe Satriani and Eric Johnson.
Stu, as most fans would know him as, has won countless awards and accolades including the
prestigious Berklee College of Music Distinguished Alumni Award, Best Jazz Player (1990-92) and
Best Rock Player (1991-92).
Stu’s latest ventures is Bx3 which also features Billy Sheehan and Jeff Berlin touring together. Each
player performs a set that presents the expertise and brilliance that made them all household names
to every serious bassist. Of course, the three masters also perform together.
The Bass Methods workshop takes place on the 23rd August 2007 and is supported by Timbre Music & Bistro and SOFT (www.soft.com.sg).
